SFI Hosts a Meeting of the Council of Student Council Presidents From Theological Schools in the Moscow Region.

On 17 February, Saint Philaret’s Orthodox Christian Institute hosted the latest meeting of the Council of Student Council Presidents from theological schools in the Moscow region.  Participants included representatives from Nikolo-Ugresh, Kolomna, and Perervinsky Theological Seminaries, Sretensky Theological Academy, Moscow Theological Academy, the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Institute for Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies, St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Humanitarian University, St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Institute, and Saint Philaret’s Institute itself.  SFI was represented by two final-year theology undergraduates: Timofey Voronov and Maria Korzhova.

Those present shared their experiences and discussed pressing matters of student life in theological schools, including student initiatives and self-government, social ministry, missionary work, and cultural activities.

Participants were warmly welcomed by SFI’s Vice-Rector for Development, Marina Naumova, and the Deputy Dean of the Theological Faculty, Olga Orlova. The guests also enjoyed a brief guided tour of the Institute, including a visit to the SFI Chapel.

The next meeting of the Council will take place at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Institute Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies.
