Representatives of the Roman Catholic Church Visit St. Philaret’s Institute
The guests, who hailed from Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Argentina, Haiti and Ukraine – as well as from the city of Saratov right here in Russia – were all Roman Catholic clergy or academics, and had come to Moscow to participate in the annual Summer Institute of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Institute for Postgraduate Studies, which is organized with the participation and support of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
St. Philaret’s Vice Rector Dmitry Gasak, Dean of the Theology Faculty Zoya Dashevskaya, and Prorector for Academic Affairs Larisa Musina told the guests about St. Philaret’s academic programmes, as well as about the founding and history of our Institute, and its current undertakings in publishing, research and education.
In the course of their trip, the delegation hope to become acquainted with both the history and contemporary life of the ROC, its academic institutes, as well as with Russian history and culture, in general. After Moscow, the delegation will visit St. Petersburg and Velikiy Novgorod.
