32th Annual Sretenskije Memorial Lectures
A Nationwide Scholarly-Theological Conference for Students, Postgraduates, and Younger Scholars
St. Philaret’s Orthodox Christian Institute will hold the 32nd Annual Sretenskije Memorial Lectures on 21 February 2026, on the feast of the Meeting of the Lord (Sretenja), on which we also commemorate Academician Sergei Averintsev, the outstanding Russian philologist, philosopher, poet, and biblical scholar. The main purpose of the symposium is to discuss fundamental and controversial issues in contemporary Theology and Christian witness, Philosophy and Anthropology, Ecclesiology and Catechetics, Church History, and problematic aspects of interreligious dialogue.
The conference programme will include a plenary session as well as sectional meetings focused on the following topics:
• Missiology and Catechetics
• Holy Scripture and Biblical Studies
• Theology and Liturgics
• Philosophy and Anthropology
• Church History
• Religious Studies and Sociology of Religion
Younger scholars, students, and postgraduates from theological seminaries/academies and secular universities are invited to participate in the symposium. If you wish to present a paper at the 32nd Annual Sretenskije Memorial Lectures, please submit an application and abstract no later than 19 January 2026. The full texts of proposed papers should be submitted by 2 February 2026. Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings, which will be indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).
